802.3z
Name: Biryukova Anna
Pseudonym used to avoid being an an-o-nym-ous: 802.3z

It is simple and yet intricate. 802.3z is a fiber-optic cable standard that has been in use since 1998.

Fiber-optic cables are based on strands of light-conducting fibers designed to transmit optical signals along communication lines in the form of photons.

The metaphor of light conductivity, which I drew from this definition, lies at the core of my work and serves as a reminder of the essence that exists within each of us.

Regardless of the outer sheath.

What matters is the memory of the core - and the purpose: to carry it through the centuries.

«Shamathi»
Festival — an opportunity to catch the thread that winds between worlds, connecting them and celebrating light over darkness. Here, I will present a few works that serve as tangible evidence of duality and of human ability to navigate around it.

To be within it and above it, to be for and against. To be.

And to choose who to be.

Shamathi — a kind of invention, yet all credit goes to its word formation:
1 — foundation — spirit (embedded term: samadhi from yogic practice);
2 — framework — matter (term and synonym for duality in material form: chess);
3 — collapse. The collapse of ignorance, whose antonym — Shamathi — is the purity and clarity of consciousness and perception in the game.
