Arina Menshikova
An artist working in the directions of metamodernism and modern constructivism. Arina explores the line between a child's dream, a naive perception of the world and an adult desire to organize reality, to give it clarity and meaning. Uses a mixed technique of acrylic painting and graphics. Combines geometry, kind humor and fantasy.

«What has been crossed out»
Canvas, acrylic, marker, liner, varnish, 2024.

Over the past two years, I have felt how many familiar things I have had to give up. Values that were once obvious and true suddenly became taboo. As if all my ideas about what is normal and right had been turned inside out. The viewer is invited to decide for themselves which three-letter word to substitute for the question marks. The moving «arrows» in the center can be rotated in a circle, pointing to concepts whose meaning has already been lost.

What will we cross out today?

The work is part of «The Checks and Balances» project
