Irina Kuvshinova
 — a photographer working in the art portrait genre. Most of her images are self-portraits, combining modernity and classicism, humor and pressing issues, realism and absurdity.
The foundation of her work lies in a deep study of global visual art. At the core of her creative process is storytelling — a small narrative captured in a single frame, a story in which both the author and the viewer are involved.
At the festival, her works explore motherhood — what it means to be a mother in today’s context, without embellishment or romanticization.

A Series of Works on Motherhood
This series is composed of individual works, each accompanied by its own description. Most of them are united by a common theme: what it means to be a woman and a mother. Here are a few examples:

A Place for Creativity: where is it, if you carry the weight of household chores everywhere — to the beach, into the shower, even to the gym?

Free Space: with the birth of a child, everything changes. Most importantly, the sense of belonging to yourself. Your arms hold the child, your eyes watch over them, your ears stay alert… Your entire sense of self dissolves into them. All your inner and physical space becomes occupied by the child. The author has accumulated a multitude of toys that invade her usual personal space. They appear in the photograph, echoing the issue of personal boundaries.
