Lilya Borodina
I always drew and never thought about it as my career but one event changed everything. First I took personal art lessons and this year I got my degree in art. This is my first time to partake in the festival. My artworks are in decorative painting and ornament technique.

The series of works I chose for the festival are using the contrast of "was - will". The look of it imitates ceramics.

The series "Keep up with the time"
When I worked on this series I was inspired by Portuguese azulejo. Old masters showed in their pieces everyday life and the spirit of their time. I choose to adapt it and show modern parts of our everyday life and culture.

The fact that even tiles are drawn on canvas have meaning. We are living at too fast a pace and are no longer attached to a particular place, so we can always take the panel with us.

"Equality" (canvas, oil and acrylic paint)
These days art is no longer a privilege of the wealthy ones. Everyone can study art, value it... and even have a portrait of their own.

"No comment" (canvas, oil and acrylic paint, varnish)

"Treats" (canvas, oil and acrylic paint, varnish)
In this piece I am showing the modern treat, a fast-food, instead of the fruit vase that is usually used for composition.

"Self-presentation" (canvas, oil and acrylic paint, varnish)
In the past you firstly reached the goal and then showed yourself in art.

But these days you create a successful image and then you build a career and reach the goal by using it to.
