Anna Mitrofanova
“I spent my childhood and youth in Khmelnitsky (Ukraine). I also received an education there as a fashion designer. I worked in Paris, but a year later I was forced to leave and go back to Ukraine.

My family and I are Russian. We moved to Russia, to Moscow. Here I worked as a fashion photographer for several years. At some point, I realized that I could only express the emotions and thoughts that overwhelmed me in the language of painting.

I left professional photography and entered an art school. I studied individually with a teacher for several years. Since 2019, I began participating in open calls, sometimes losing, sometimes winning. I placed my works in various galleries in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi. The first sales happened.

This year, I took part in three major events: the Traditions and Modernity festival in Gostiny Dvor, Art Expo in Beijing and the Art3F fair in Luxembourg.”
Series "Awakening"
"The series briefly tells about my biography. But I am sure that many, maybe most people, have experienced something similar."

The series consists of 6 pictures: "Dream", "Hope", "Flight", "Pain", "Awakening", "Life" and here is its manifesto:

Childhood and youth, they are similar to a serene DREAM.
When you grow up, you are nourished by HOPE that in your life there will be no falls and underwater reefs.
You begin to FLIGHT to the sun, and suddenly it burns you and PAIN comes.
You realize that you are still sleeping, and only then comes AWAKENING.
You destroy illusions.
You find new energy.
You declare yourself.
And only after that does real LIFE begin.
