Andrey Ruzov
— CG / Digital Artist.

I have been struggling with depression and bipolar disorder for 5 years. During this time, I have accumulated a lot of thoughts and a desire to speak out to a wide audience on the topic of mental health. My works and the process of creating these works are therapy at the moment, this is a diary of thoughts and reflections on topics that concern me.

My main goal is to talk to people who feel bad, who are not listened to and not heard, who are in a state of instability, who are lonely, anxious, sick or undergoing difficult therapy. I want to convey to them the idea that they are not alone, and they are heard, understood and their pain and experiences are shared. I want us to study more about our mental health issues, as this is important for us and our loved ones.

It so happened that on the path to self-recovery, I found a new tool for self-expression - CG. My canvas is my monitor screen, and my brushes are the software in which I create my works.

«Mental Disorders»
A non-profit, social art project aimed at acquainting people with mental disorders and contributing to attempts to make this topic important in our society. In 2024, many are still afraid to talk about it, either devaluing their condition or fearing that someone else will devalue them.

The oppression of cliches and banal phrases such as "You just need a vacation," "You're being dramatic," "You're just lazy" force a person with this problem to continue to suffer instead of starting to fight it. Over the course of my five years of experience treating severe depression and bipolar disorder, I myself have encountered many problems in communicating with other people. Some did not understand me, others devalued these problems, and others had never even heard of their existence before.

My touch on this topic may be surface level, but I want to believe that it can make a person think about this big problem. I want to talk about this a lot so that people with mental illnesses feel not alone, heard and understood.
